Dewar not certified for acceptable risk operation may contain oil liquid or gas beyond economical repair remediation and removal required. Please see attached diagram and specifications document for size information. Rail tank has previously held hydrogen gas, hydrogen liquid, and nitrogen gas which has been purged. The units contain lead. Winning bidder must read and sign the attached Lead Paint Warning document as well as the Hazardous Statement document. The rail car/tank is land locked and no longer located on tracks. The unit cannot be cut into pieces while on NASA property. The winning bidder will be solely responsible for removing the railcar from the center and assistance from the center will not be provided in the removal process. This includes, but not limited to equipment to lift and load tanks to include all tie downs, personnel and equipment to tie down and secure equipment. PROPERTY REMOVAL: Due to security issues at property locations, successful bidders are required to contact the custodian prior to entering the facility to remove property, and at times, they are not permitted to use security phones. Therefore, successful bidders must communicate with the custodians in advance to make arrangements for removal and/or have a cell phone with them to contact them once they arrive at the secured location. Successful bidders are cautioned that they will be responsible for loading, packing and removal of any and all property awarded to them from the exact place where the property is located, as indicated below. Winning bidder is required to submit a Health and Safety plan for removal in accordance with the Glenn Research Center s Safety Manual, Occupational Health Programs Manual, and Environmental Programs Manual.
